Welcome to my new blog — devoted to a lifelong obsession with whole grains. And it’s not a healthy one! Of course, I’m just kidding. I want to show you that whole grains are so much more than healthy. They have fantastic subtle flavors, rich textures, and a wide range of colors. And they are economical to boot, which makes them amazing additions to our meals. My ambition is to serve delicious food that you will want to eat again and again and again—so I invite you to indulge with me because I believe in eating all good food.

This fall is devoted to many events and travel while I continue to spread the word about my book, Ancient Grains for Modern Meals. As a result, my blog will evolve only over time. You can call it slow blog, that’s fine with me.

In the meantime, I would love to share with you two recipes from my book: Bulgur with Butter-roasted Almonds and Cinnamon, and Wheat Berry Fools with Grand Marnier Figs. Both of these dishes demonstrate the remarkable versatility of whole grains.
